Jerry G. Houston - Minister
Brother Jerry G. Houston, a native of Shreveport, LA, has been married to the former
Deborah R. Hemphill of Philadelphia, PA since August 23, 1986. They are the proud parents
of two girls, Amber Symone and Janae Lyndsey. They also have a pet dog named Simba.
Brother Houston served at the East Haven Church of Christ in Memphis, TN
since August 1988. Prior to that, Brother Houston's experience included Youth Minister at
the Olney Church of Christ (1987), Youth Minister at the King of Prussia Church of Christ
in Pennsylvania (1985-1986), Interim Pulpit Minister in New Egypt, New Jersey
(1984-1985). He also served as Sunday School Youth Teacher at
the Church of Christ at 16th Street NW in Washington, DC. In addition to preaching gospel
meetings in several states, Brother Houston is a trained pastoral and marital counselor.
He has also served as part-time chaplaincy at the Veteran's Administrative Medical Center.
Brother Houston has a Masters of Divinity Degree from the Harding Graduate School of
Religion, a Bachelors of Arts from Harding University, and an Associates from Northeastern
Junior College.
Jerry Houston, was installed on February 28, 1999, as the Minister for the
East Henrietta Road Church of Christ.
